2016 Prescott Film Festival

“Movies that Move You!”

Why do we long to experience independent films? As true movie buffs we generally go to the theatre at least a couple of times a month. Then the festival comes around and there we are, in the theatre every day!

Because we long for films that make us think.  Make us ask questions: of others and ourselves.  Films that make us experience the cultural expression and the unique art form.  Films that have that special component that move us.  We laugh, we cry, we are inspired, we are motivated, we are outraged, we are delighted.

We are moved by the image projected on the screen.

As of this writing, we are still programming this year’s festival. Though I can’t give you specific titles and themes, I can tell you that this year’s line up promises to be the highest quality of films we have ever presented.

Add to that, we are supporting the “educate” part of our mission by continuing our third year of the High School Student Film Competition.  Yavapai College’s Community Education Department has worked with us and the Film and Media Arts Program to bring two sessions of a Filmmaker Boot Camp – one the YC Verde Valley Campus and one on the Prescott Campus.  These student’s films will be part of the program of high school films.  We hope all our audience members will come out to support these kids and their films on the last day of the festival, Sunday, July 24th.  The Yavapai College Film and Media Arts Program will sponsor the screening.

We are looking forward to another year of wonderful films, amazing free workshops and a fantastic after-party and wine tasting!

We hope you will join us!
