2015 Prescott Film Festival

“… cultural events that entertain, inspire and inform…”

Perhaps more so than in past festivals, we focused on the “inspiring” part of our Mission when selecting films for our 6th Annual Prescott Film Festival.
During this festival, you can meet a glue-factory-bound horse and the man who helped him become a champion jumper. Or journey with us to Rwanda where a nascent film industry is helping a country to come to grips with its genocidal past. Sit at the knee of Carroll Spinney, aka Big Bird, who has edutained 3 generations of children in the US and around the world. Be amazed by a magician committed to exposing conmen and debunking charlatans. Experience the commitment needed to be accepted into a world-class ballet school. Or finally, watch three ordinary people make an extraordinary difference in their communities– if they can do it, why can’t we?

From an informative standpoint, we have included filmmakers whose voices speak about a variety of important topics ranging from immigration to miscarriage of justice, from prejudice to dealing with loss, from pursuing one’s dreams to making a difference for others.

Don’t worry! We will still provide the independent storytelling that you have come to expect from us—and that you rarely will see at the local commercial theaters. We are pleased to bring the Sneak Peek of Learning to Drive starring Ben Kingsley and Patricia Clarkson, right after our 4th annual Arizona Wine Tasting Event. We have several outstanding dramas including 1000 Times Good Night starring Juliette Binoche (Chocolat) and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones). Add to that several comedies including a vampire mockumentary called What We Do in the Shadows, some romances and even a mystery. Finally, we are proud to bring you several outstanding foreign films from around the world including Accused, Living is Easy with Eyes Closed– and Theeb which will be followed with a Cabaret Party on stage at the YCPAC.

Escape the summer heat and life’s daily doldrums. Journey with us to “Northern Arizona’s best staycation.” Join us for the 6th Annual Prescott Film Festival!
